Pearson Test of English Academic is a computer-based academic English language test for those non-native English speakers who desires to studying abroad. The tests are mainly of Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.

PTE contains two modulpes of examination:
PTE Academic (applicable in Top Universities).
PTE General (for acquiring good jobs). The test is acknowledged by the UK Border Agency (UKBA) and Australian DIAC for student visas. The whole test is done in a single session in the time frame of 3 hours and is taken on computer in a secured test environment.

The Speaking part of the exam is also done on the computer. The voice is recorded and sent for marking. The results are delivered within 5 days.

The following is the test procedure which candidate have to clear :
A2 Level 1 - 95 mins
B1 Level 2 - 95 mins
B2 Level 3 - 120 mins
C1 Level 4 - 150 mins
C2 Level 5 - 175 mins
